The key to a great headshot? Confidence. And confidence comes from wearing clothes you feel good in. If you’re not comfortable in an outfit, it’ll show in your expression, no matter how great the lighting is.

🕒 MINI SESSION (30 mins / 1 outfit)

Since we’ll be working with one outfit, choose something that:

• Makes you feel polished, confident, and authentic

• Reflects how you'd show up at an important meeting or audition

• Works well across platforms (LinkedIn, website, casting, etc.)

Need ideas? A well-fitted neutral top, a clean jacket, or a classic tee are always solid choices.

🕘 STANDARD SESSION (Unlimited outfit changes)

You’ll have plenty of time to explore multiple looks, so bring a variety of options!
Think about:

• Casual vs. formal: A blazer for LinkedIn, a casual shirt for your website, etc.

• Color tones: Stick to blues, grays, whites, or black, simple and timeless

• Character types (for actors): A hoodie gives a different vibe than a leather jacket

Bring a few “maybe” pieces too, sometimes the outfit you almost left behind ends up being the best one.

🚫 Avoid These Common Mistakes

• Bright neon colors or loud patterns

• Logos and busy graphics

• Baggy, wrinkled, or sheer fabrics

• Bulky shoulder pads or poor tie knots

• Necklines that widen the shoulders or distract from the face

Do bring:
✔ Clean, fitted clothes
✔ Undergarments that work with lighter or thinner tops
✔ Glasses (if you wear them)
✔ Accessories only if they’re subtle and essential to your look

💇 Hair, Makeup & Grooming Tips

We want these headshots to look like you on your best day, not an overly styled version of someone you don’t recognize.

 

Hair

• Arrive with your hair done how you’d typically wear it

• Bring any styling products, brushes, or clips you may need

• Don’t stress about flyaways or grays, we can retouch those

 

Makeup

• Less is more — keep it light and natural

• Avoid heavy contouring or overly bold lipstick/eyeshadow

• Add more throughout the session if needed, easier than removing it

✔ Trim visible nose hairs
✔ Brush/shape brows and facial hair
✔ Moisturize lips
✔ Double-check your teeth
✔ Ensure lashes aren’t blocking your eyes

If you’re unsure about an outfit or accessory, bring it (if you booked a standard session)!
We shoot tethered to a laptop, so you’ll be able to see right away what’s working.
